Nucleus Fusion Packaging

First Impression

First Look

Our Fusion Nucleus tank, for which we must thank ecigarettelobby.com, came in a nice black box, together with three different coils (one of them pre-installed) and a couple of extra goodies, including a replacement Pyrex tube and an extra 510 drip tip with an adapter for it.

The tank itself sports a very futuristic look. The aesthetics are a bit out of ordinary, but that’s a great thing in a world full of similarly looking metallic finish vape tanks. Details like the characteristic anti-slip twill design of the airflow adjustment rings are not only functional but also look great; the overall build quality is close to excellent. We especially love the coils which are very solidly built, have perfect threading, and look so great that it’s a shame that they are buried deep inside the tank. And yes, Fusion Dynamics actually refers to these mighty coils as ‘Main Reactors’.

The Nucleus is available in three colors ’ Ferrari Red, Sky Blue, and Black.

Fusion Nucleus Sub-ohm Tank

First Vape

Let’s start with the 0.5ohm fused Clapton coil. Let me tell you, it’s a real treat for intense flavor lovers! We found our “sweet spot” for this coil to be at around 50 watts. Nothing much is happening at up to 30W, but at 60 or more watts the hits can become a bit too hot and perhaps harsh for some. As this is a fused Clapton, the ramp-up time is a bit longer than the other two coils which come in the kit, but the millisecond or two are really worth it, especially if you’re into clear, pure flavor.

The 0.2ohm coil is all about vapor production. It gives out some enormous clouds! Don’t get me wrong, the flavor is still there, but the amount and density of vapor is the main reason why this is my favorite coil for the Nucleus. Although I prefer to fire it at around 65 watts, it works at a wide range of wattages ’ from around 30 watts up to 70 and even 80 watts. Also, let’s not forget that as a SS316 coil, this one can also be used in temperature control mode. And, finally, be prepared ’ lots of vapor also means that you’ll most likely go through a lot of e-juice with this coil.

When it comes to the 0.4ohm Titanium coil, it is nice to see that Fusion Dynamics has included an alternative for those vapers whose mods do not support temperature control for stainless steel coils. Other than that, this was the least spectacular coil in terms of vapor production, but the flavor is still on the level of the other two.

What We Enjoyed About the Fusion Nucleus

Versatile coils

A 0.2ohm stainless steel coil for some extraordinarily huge clouds, a Titanium coil strictly for temperature control lovers, plus a fused Clapton for intense flavor ’ what more could you ask for? And if you pair each of these coils with the wide airflow adjustment options and the two different drip tips which come in the kit, you get literally endless combinations of flavor and vapor production. And you can even configure the Nucleus for some more down-to-earth, mouth-to-lung hits if you wish so ’ close the top airflow, leave the bottom open only partially, take the 510 drip tip and the 0.5ohm Clapton coil, and vape it at around 20-30 watts.

Outstanding vapor & flavor production

When it comes to vapor production, the Fusion Nucleus, in fact, is one of the best performing sub-ohm tanks we have ever used. You get enormous clouds all over the place, especially with the 0.2ohm stainless steel coil. Flavor-wise, all three coils are definitely on the level of the Uwell Rafale tank, and that means pure, clear taste with every hit.Fusion Nucleus Glassomizer

Ultra wide-bore drip tip

It might take some time to get used to the mouthpiece of the Nucleus, but when you do, it is possible that you’ll never want to switch back to 510 drip tips ’ it simply gives you a much airier and more powerful draw. But if you still do, the Nucleus kit also includes a 510 with an adapter for it. Yeah!

Both top & bottom fill

You can refill your Nucleus in two different ways: by unscrewing the bottom base, or by removing the upper part ’ the drip tip base ’ of the tank. In both cases, refilling is very straightforward, and what we really like is that there is plenty of space for all kinds of e-juice bottle tips & droppers.

Fusion Nucleus Top Fill

No dry hits, no spit back

Perhaps the most astonishing thing about the Nucleus is that it performs without any hiccups. Indeed, this is one of the few vape tanks which didn’t give us any dry hits at all. Both the fused Clapton and the 0.2ohm stainless steel coils wick exceptionally well and can be fired at a very wide range of wattages, and by upping the power considerably, all you get is simply a bit hot and harsh vape, but there’s no burnt taste ’ even with 100% VG e-juice.

Also, even at 80 watts, no hot e-liquid landed on our tongues. That is quite impressive, especially if we take into consideration that there are no fancy anti spit back spirals in the chimney of the Nucleus.

What We Didn’t Enjoy About The Fusion Nucleus

No RBA included

Although a separate RBA kit for the Nucleus will be available soon, we would have been in awe if it already came with the tank ’ simply because its large size and the endless airflow adjustment possibilities would be a excellent fit for building your own coils.

Drip tip base gets loose occasionally

We noticed that the drip tip base of the tank may get loose over time. We suspect this happens simply because the threading on the drip tip base is made of plastic, and therefore it sometimes doesn’t align properly with the threading in the stainless steel chimney of the tank. However, this is just a minor issue, because even if the threading on the plastic part is gone entirely, it still sits firmly in the chimney after you apply a slight pressure on the drip tip.

Final Thoughts

The Fusion Nucleus tank is a sexy looking cloud machine which also delivers exceptionally clear and intense flavor. Why do we love this tank? First of all, it is something different in comparison to all the other vape tanks currently available on the market, and, secondly, it works perfectly, delivering heaps of flavorful vapor every single time. The long list of pros outweigh the few minor issues, and with three different highly capable coils, excellent airflow adjustment options, as well as two different drip tips, this package is well worth its money.
