A sub-ohm tank or rebuildable, an e-juice that tastes so great and intense that one could probably want to drink it (warning: DO NOT DO THAT! It is very dangerous and harmful) and huge clouds of vapor blocking the view to the other side of a room ’ seems like this is a sight we are going to see a lot in 2015. However, to make that all happen, a vaper also needs a smart, reliable and, of course, powerful mod. This is where Vaporfi’s Vox II, the upgraded version of Vox 50, could probably come in.

Looks & Design

The VaporFi Vox II mod comes with a user manual, a USB cable and a very high capacity 2500 mAh battery.

The mod itself features a stainless steel casing, with one of the boxes sides ’ where the battery is located ’ being slightly rounded. The device is rather small and can fit even in your jeans pocket, and it feels very comfortably in your hand. It features an OLED screen on the side, with the power button and setting buttons next to it. When we first get our hands on this device, we immediately liked the firmness and overall feel of the power button, which, by the way, is an important factor to consider when you plan to use a mod daily. Also, the Vox II definitely leaves an impression of a very well-made and reliable device.

Functionality & Performance

Despite the quite small size, this device is really powerful. And by powerful we mean not only the maximum wattage setting ’ it is also packed with features, safety and warning systems, and comes with an outstanding 35 amp, 2 500 mAh battery. This by all means is a device for advanced vapers, but at the same time it could, of course, suit the needs of a beginner, although one would need to be a bit careful with the settings.

The minimum available wattage setting is 7 watts, the maximum ’ 50 watts of raw power. The wattage setting can be changed in increments of 0.1W, meaning that you will be able to fine-tune it to suit all of your needs, whether you use a rebuildable atomizer or a standard tank. And it would be a sin not to mention the fact that the device can fire coils down to even 0.2 ohms. Yeah, baby!

Here at Ecigclopedia, we tried out the Vox II paired with several clearomizers and one rebuildable atomizer. Everything from an Innokin iClear 30s to Kanger Subtank Plus felt outstanding. By tuning the power to suit the selected e-liquid and tank, we always achieved a very nice and flavorful vape, letting our overall satisfaction about the device to increase even further.

The Vox II is also a pass-through mod, which means that you will be able to safely use it while charging. However, we noticed that the charging process is faster if it is done through a battery charger.

Final thoughts

The Vox II is a powerful and very enjoyable device with an outstanding list of features. In the case of this mod, it’s probably also the little things that make the product stunning ’ like the perfect finish and the adjustable screw in the battery slot cap, which can be used to tighten the position of the battery. High compatibility, 50 watts of pure power and a long list of safety systems definitely justifies the higher-than-usual price of this device, but there is one more thing to mention: despite the various upgrades, the price of the Vox II is actually a bit lower than its predecessor, the VOX 50.
