UK Cancer Research Study Reveals – Vaping is Safer than Smoking

Nicotine, Carcinogen, and Toxin Exposure in Long-Term E-Cigarette and Nicotine Replacement Therapy Users: A Cross-sectional Study shows that smokers who switch to vaping greatly reduce their exposure to cancer-causing toxins. This is the study one can use when confronted by vaping doubters.

Briefly about this study, he looked at current and ex-smokers who have been vaping exclusively for at least six months and also those ex-smokers who are part of nicotine replacement therapies (NRT) like gum and patches. One of the research tools was to measure biomarkers of smoking risk in the study participants.

Only some of the most dangerous carcinogens were found and at extremely low levels. Tobacco-specific nitrosamine was reduced by 97 percent in the non-smoking nicotine users.

There is one very interesting dual users smoker who also vape or use nicotine replacement therapies were not found to have considerably lower levels of many of the measured toxins than full-time smokers. Only the nicotine users who had completely abandoned cigarettes seemed to benefit from vaping.

Dr. Michael Siegel of Boston University says everything is very simply. At the bottom line of this study is that there is now no scientific uncertainty: vaping is much safer than smoking.
