Eleaf Melo 300 Review
Today we are going to have a look on sub-ohm tank by Eleaf Melo 300. The Melo series has been around for a few years and this is the newest tank in the Melo series. Basically, it falls into super tank category and we will explain why.
Eleaf Melo 300 review
First impression
Eleaf Melo 300 comes in pretty small box. Melo is available in 2 colors: black or silver. In the box you get:
- Melo 300 sub-ohm tank
- Extra coil head
- O-rings
- Directions and a little warning card
Eleaf Melo 300 comes in 2 sizes. Both are 26mm in diameter, but one capacity is 6.5ml and the other hold 3.5ml of e-liquid. Even if it is 26mm, it doesn’t really look overly tall if that makes sense. Sometimes you can take 22mm tanks and look super tall and kind of awkward.
510 connection
On the bottom you get 510 pin connection which could be made from brass or gold plated. But more it looks like brass, as gold plated often look more goldish.
You shouldn’t use this tank on any top cap mechanic mods.
Coils
The coils in this tank are massive, they are sextuple, there is a total of six coils inside each. Each coil has two strands of wire so there is in total 12 different wires. Nowhere is written about Stainless steel coils, so you can buy separately some nickel coils if you want to do some temperature control.
BS coil is .17ohm coil is rated for 100 – 300W. So it’s obviously another one of these beastly tanks that has tons of airflow and lots of vapor. So let’s go ahead and let’s take some vape!
Airflow
When you move the airflow it has some nice chunky feel to it – perfect amount of resistance. It’s so pleasant that you can even catch yourself by playing with it.
Drip tip
This is not a normal 510 tip, just keep that in mind. It has really wide board and normal 510 tips just is not going to fit. But such a massive wide tip is needed, if you want to enjoy plenty of vape.
Filling
E-liquid feeling feels very nice either, the same as airflow adjustment. It has top filling system and you can open it by moving it to aside. You can really feel the quality when doing that.
First vape
125W
We set the mod at 125W in the beginning with airflow wide open. The amount of vapor is massive, even if your lungs are tiny. Either we can’t complain about the taste, you can definitely taste the flavor of the e-liquid (we tested with Vista Vapors e-liquid: 70/30 VG/PG).
160W
So to test it more properly we set the mod at 160W. And actually that’s really nice. It’s like a sweet spot, we really like that. Normally we don’t go so much up on daily base, but for test purpose why not. We are not planning to go for 300W. We don’t think it would be pleasurable just because this is raided and, even if Eleaf say that it will keep up to 300W it doesn’t mean it would be an enjoyable.
200W
But one of our testers decided to go up for 200W. As he said, you don’t feel any burn in the throat but the vape was too warm for him. So we can really admit, that for us the sweet spot is somewhere around 125 ’ 160W.
Pros and Cons
Pros | Cons |
High quality vapor | RTA section is not included into a package |
E-liquid filling and capacity with 6.5ml | Extra piece of glass |
Built quality | Doesn’t hold 510 tips |
Long story short – Summary
We definitely recommend this tank for heavy vapers. The built quality, taste of flavor and tank capacity is great and it will definitely not let you down. Also the price is fine and tank will not smash your pocket.
